US-based telecom equipment manufacturer Motorola will introduce its series of smart televisions for the Indian market from 16 September onwards, reports Hindustan Times. The TV sets will available on e-commerce website Flipkart.
Customers will be able to choose from a number of different available screen sizes. The TVs themselves will all be based on Android 9 Pie TV OS and will also have 30W front firing speakers. Additionally, the devices will be equipped with DTS TruSurround sound as well as Dolby Audio.
It is also expected that to compete with other premium smart TVs, Motorola’s device will not have bezels on its edges, thus maximising screen size.
Motorola will be entering a crowded field in the smart TV market in India, which is presently led by Chinese company Xiaomi , controlling about 39 per cent market share, followed by fellow East Asian electronic companies Samsung, Sony and LG.
Simultaneously with the roll out of its smart TVs, the company will also be launching its Moto E6 Plus as well as the Motorola One Zoom smartphones which were first made public at IFA 2019 held in Berlin.
