Four cops sustained injuries in the Dewas town of Madhya Pradesh after they were attacked while trying to enforce the 21 day lockdown aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus.
As per a New Indian Express report, while patrolling Ekta Nagar Colony in Dewas’ Ujjain Road area, the cops found some youths defying the lockdown order by playing cricket and sitting outside.
When the cops tried to stop them the youths began pelting them with stones. One of them even slapped a cop while claiming to be a lawyer.
The area inspector then rushed additional troops to protect his colleagues. Despite this, the attack continued and residents began pelting stones from their rooftops.
As per the report soon women joined the attack and even tried to tear the inspector’s uniform. The cops somehow managed to control the situation and two men and two women were eventually arrested.
