‘My Wife Is Missing From Five Months’: Delhi Man When Asked As To Why Is He Part Of JNU Protest

Following the violence in JNU campus on Sunday (5 January), sporadic protests have been carried out in various parts of the country against the incident.

As was the case in the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests, many media organisations described it as a “student protest”. During one such coverage by Times Now, the reporter asked one of the protesters his place of residence, occupation and the reason for coming to the protest.

The response by the interviewee was unexpected to say the least as he replied, “I work as a waiter and my wife has been missing from five months”.

The reporter then hurriedly cut him short by saying that he will speak to him later and tried to salvage his point that the protest involved students.

The protests also took a controversial turn when a woman brazenly displayed a “Free Kashmir” banner at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. She has since then apologised.
