Nagrota Attack: Army Recovers Pakistani Weapons, Combing Operations Resume On Day Three

Combing operations in Nagrota, the town in Jammu and Kashmir that was hit by a massive terror strike on Tuesday, resumed today with the first day light. Combing operation conducted on Wednesday was highly successful as the army recovered weapons and unused ammunition, including those with American markings handed to Pakistan for its ‘fight against’ Taliban.

The army also informed that the terrorists who stormed the artillery camp had left behind posters proclaiming their action was intended to avenge Afzal Guru, the Jaish-e-Muhammad operative hanged in 2013 for his role in the attack on Parliament House. “Afzal Guru shaheed ke inteqaam ki ek aur kisht (another installment of our vengeance for the martyr Afzal Guru),” the poster reads. The poster points to the involvement of the Jaish-e-Mohammad in the attack, the militant outfit also believed to be behind the strike at the Pathankot Air Force base on 2 January.
