Even as counting of votes continues across the country for the current elections to the 17th Lok Sabha, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has crossed the 300 mark in early trends, with leads in a total of 312 seats, with the UPA leading in only 112 seats.

Many of the party’s lead candidates such as Amit Shah, Gautam Gambhir, Pragya Thakur, among others have taken leads in their respective constituencies.

Moreover, the party has also taken lead in 21 seats of West Bengal, where its presence in the past has been negligible and where it has witnessed stiff resistance from the entrenched Trinamool.
