Voting concluded today (7 December) in the states of Telangana and Rajasthan for the last phase of the five-state assembly election marathon.
In Rajasthan, the BJP and the Congress are locked in a tough fight for 199 seats. The state has not voted the same party to power for more than one term in the last 20 years. Close to 4.77 crore eligible voters would have been able to exercise their franchise across 51,965 polling stations in the state.
Voter turnout till 5 pm was recorded at 72.7 per cent in Rajasthan, as per ANI.
In Telangana, the Congress-led alliance is facing Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS and Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM. The Telangana assembly has 119 seats. The results will be declared on 11 December along with those of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram. Close to 2.81 crore eligible voters would have been able to exercise their franchise across 32,815 polling stations in Telangana.
Voter turnout of 68.9 per cent was recorded till 5 pm in Telangana, as reported by News 18.
