No Retest For CBSE Class X Mathematics Paper, Board Says Leak Had No Impact On Exam

BySwarajya Staff

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday decided against holding a retest for Class X mathematics paper, saying that the leak did not impact the exam, Hindustan Times has reported.

According to the daily’s report, the decision was taken after a thorough analysis and evaluation of answer sheets. During the analysis, experts found no trends to indicate that the leak impacted the exam.

However, according to a source quoted by the daily, results would be examined closely by CBSE "if a student has done poorly in internal assessment and does exceptionally well in the main paper and this is at variance with his other papers".

The official announcement of the board’s decision, which will bring relief to 1.7 million students who took the exam on 28 March, is expected later today.

The re-examination for Class XII economics paper will take place on 25 April. Three people, including two teachers of a private school, have been arrested by the Delhi Police in the paper leak case.
