Odisha Becomes First Indian State To Extend Covid-19 Lockdown, To Continue Till 30 April

Odisha has become the first Indian state to extend the lockdown, an announcement to this tune was made by state Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The lockdown in the state has been extended till 30 April.

In a video address Chief Minister Patnaik said that he is extending the lockdown after discussions with the state cabinet.

Odisha has also requested the central government to suspend the rail and flight services in the state till 30 April. Patnaik also added that he has requested all other Indian states to take care of Odisha’s migrant workers.

A few days ago Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashehar Rao had requested the centre to extend the nationwide lockdown by two weeks. A final decision to this regard is expected to be taken during an 11 April meet between the Prime Minister and respective Chief Ministers.
