Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the fourth Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF) via videoconferencing on Friday (12 March), reports ANI.
The Fourth GAF was originally planned for 16th to 20th May 2020 at Angamaly, but was later postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The eight-day festival will have live sessions including plenaries, symposiums, parallel sessions, paper presentations, virtual exhibition and virtual networking and will conclude on 19th March.
The festival also includes international seminar, a global exhibition and business meet and will feature lectures by 35 internationally renowned scientists and over 150 Indian scientists.
Around 650 of the 1,150 selected research papers will be projected live, while 500 research papers will be a poster presentation.
Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister V Muraleedharan, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) President Uday Shankar and former FICCI President Dr Sangita Reddy will also be present at the event.
Notably, Muraleedharan is the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the festival. The keynote address in the event will be delivered by World Health Organization Chief Scientist Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Central AYUSH Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and Central AYUSH Advisor Vaidya Manoj Nesari.
Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA), in association with the Governmental and Non-Governmental bodies, is organizing this Global Ayurveda Festival.
