PM Modi’s Ode To The Honest Tax Payer
Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort in Delhi during his fourth Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (15 August) thanked the honest taxpayers for their role in nation building.
Modi said that the real beneficiaries of public policies were the taxpayers and not the government and that India was celebrating a festival of honesty.
When the will power is strong and there is desire to do something for the country. I want to thank the tax payers of the country. It is because of these honest tax payers that we are able to launch multiple policies in the country. It is because of this effort that we are being able to lift people out of poverty and feed them.Prime Minister Narendra Modi
The Prime Minister also touched upon the Goods and Services Tax (GST), thanking the business community for their support.
