The price of non-subsidised LPG on 30 June was cut by over Rs 100 per cylinder on the back of softening international rates, Indian Oil Corp (IOC) said in a company press release.

The cooking gas in Delhi will be priced at Rs 637 per cylinder from 1 July against Rs 737.50 currently, IOC said in a statement. Subsidised cooking gas price will be Rs 494.35 per cylinder.

The price of non-subsidised cooking gas (liquified petroleum gas) in Delhi has been cut by Rs 100.50 per 14.2 kg cylinder from 1 July. A domestic LPG consumer will now be required to make an upfront cash payment of Rs 637 per cylinder this month in place of Rs 737.50 a cylinder that was required to be paid earlier.

As domestic LPG category is subsidised through the Direct Benefit Transfer Programme, the effective price after subsidy to a consumer will be Rs 494.35 per cylinder from July. In June, consumers paid Rs 497.37 per cylinder after the subsidy.

An Indian Oil statement said that this cut is based on LPG Prices in international market and dollar-rupee exchange rate. Accordingly, the upfront cash payment by the consumer of domestic LPG will also be reduced by Rs 100.50 per cylinder.
