Priyanka Vadra Fails To ‘Charm’ PETA Over Snake Charmer Stunt; Gets Slammed For Playing With Snakes

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on Tuesday (2 April) raised objection over Congress general secretary meeting snake charmers in Rae Bareli and then holding their snakes.

In a video released on social media, Priyanka Vadra was seen sitting beside snakes during an election campaign and even ended up holding one of them in her hand. All this while she was interacting with snake charmers and appeared nonplussed about the reptiles around her.

While some social media users admired the courage of Priyanka Vadra, PETA has raised objection over her electoral stunt.

As reported by CNN News18, PETA claims that the snake charmer video is a violation of the Wildlife Protection Act, and the Election Commission has issued guidelines against the usage of animals for election campaigning.

Incidentally, a few days ago a supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had got into trouble for pasting pro-Modi stickers on his dog and walking him around the town on voting day.

Both the dog and the owner were then taken to the police station and booked under section 171 (A) of the IPC for violating election rules which prohibit campaigning on polling day.
