Rebellion In Mamata’s Own Family: Nephew Leads Doctors’ Protest Against State Government

A rebellion has broken out within Mamata Banerjee’s own family after her nephew Abesh Banerjee has decided to side with the doctors in the ongoing medical strike in the state over demands for better security for the medical professionals, DNA has reported.

Abesh, a doctor at KPC Medical college and Hospital, led a protest rally in the state capital along with his colleagues.

Abesh is the son of Mamata’s brother Kartik Banerjee. Apart from Abesh, the daughter of senior Trinamool leader Firhad Hakim too joined the protests and criticised the state government for doing virtually nothing to protect the doctors in various medical colleges across the country.
