‘Rise In Sex Crime And Divorce In Pakistan Due To Bollywood’, Laments Twice Divorced Imran Khan 

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, while interacting with content developers and Youtubers in Islamabad, said that Hollywood and Bollywood are responsible for the surge in sex crimes and divorce rate in Pakistan, reports The Week.

Khan said that access to mobile phones made available to children and the content that is streamed was never available to anyone in Pakistan before and called the situation as being a “threat and challenge”.

He also held the entertainment industry in the west and in India responsible for the rise in drug use in schools and said, “Sex crimes are sky-rocketing in Pakistan; paedophilia is rising. Child pornography is prevalent in Pakistan; our government is clamping down on this.”

He further added, "We take content coming from Hollywood, then Bollywood and then Pakistan... People who use this content don’t understand Western culture. They don’t understand that the most harmful thing of the Western culture is being imported here via Hollywood.”

Imran called that such content has led to the "breakdown of the family system" and rising rate of divorce.

However it should be noted that he himself is divorced twice and has been accused of using drugs.

Imran's first marriage took place when he was 43 years to Jemima Goldsmith, the daughter of financier Sir James Goldsmith. Jemima was only 21 years old and half his age and this marriage lasted nine years producing two children (both sons) and ended in 2004.

His second marriage was to journalist Reham Khan a mother of three children from her first marriage and that lasted just 10 months in 2015. In 2018, Reham Khan wrote a controversial tell-all book in which she alleged Imran used to have up to 6 gm of cocaine a night.

In February 2018, Imran married his current wife, Bushra Bibi, who comes from a politically influential family and is a self-styled Sufi faith healer. Bushra has five children from her first marriage.

Also data released from Google revealed that Pakistan tops the list of most porn-searching countries in the world and six of the top eight porn-searching countries were Muslim states.
