Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, during a programme in Ranchi, ordered the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to mark and investigate corrupt officials in the state, The New Indian Express has reported.
Das, in his ‘Seedhi Baat’ programme on Wednesday (26 October), was receiving complaints directly from people. During the programme, he ordered ACB to identify corrupt block development officers (BDOs) and circle officers (COs) and investigate the properties owned by them.
He said that if properties of these corrupt officials are found to be disproportionate from their known sources of incomes then the government would open schools and hospitals there.
Chief Minister during the programme took quick action on complaints received. In one such instance, he ordered removal of Dumri CO Jagdish Kumar Pandey with immediate effect when a complainant Sunita Devi alleged that said officer asks for bribe whenever someone approaches him to get some work done.
Das said he has been receiving such complaints against several other COs and BDOs during his visit to different districts of the state.
On a complaint by one Ashish Kumar against the Shibu Soren Tribal Inter College in Sahebgunj, Das ordered that registration be cancelled of all degree colleges and educational institutions which do not have basic infrastructure despite receiving huge aid from the state government.
Chief Minister, during his direct conversation with people, addressed a total of 10 complaints.
