Six people were killed after a Lexus SUV rammed into a crowd in Kharkiv, Ukraine on Wednesday (18 October). The incident occurred near the Chabad House in the city.
Along with those killed, a further six people were injured in the accident, which took place at Sumskaya Street in Ukraine’s second-largest city, reported Sputnik.
Police have claimed the incident was not a terrorist attack.
Quoting the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, Sputnik reported that the SUV was thrown on a pedestrian walk after collision with another car.
Anton Herashchenko, an adviser to the interior minister, said the Lexus collided at high speed with a Volkswagen after running a red light, and was flipped into the street, where dozens of people were walking.
The Lexus driver was arrested at the scene. ANI
