All India Congress Committee spokesperson Tom Vadakkan who is believed to be a close aide of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi joined the BJP on Thursday (14 March), India Today has reported.
He came into the BJP’s fold in presence of senior leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad at an event in Delhi.
Vadakkan in a statement said that he was deeply hurt by the Congress’s reaction to the Pulwama terror attack following which he decided to leave the party.
He added that if a political party takes anti-India position then he was left with no option to leave the party.
He was also quoted as saying that, “I left the party with heavy heart. This is against the national interest and I have left the party on a sad note”.
