UP Police Nabs Three For Cow Slaughter Believed To Have Fuelled Bulandshahr Violence, Two More For Ensuing Clashes

Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested five persons for their alleged role in cow slaughter and mob violence cases in Bulandshahar, The New Indian Express has reported.

"Three men Nadeem, Raees and Kaala have been arrested for their role in the cow slaughtering incident. A vehicle and a licensed weapon have also been recovered from their possession," said Prabhakar Chaudhary, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bulandshahar.

“The police is investigating the matter and three men arrested in relation to this matter have emerged as prime suspects for cow slaughter. Further probe is on,” Chaudhary told.

The mob violence resulted in killing of police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, and a civilian Sumit Kumar.

Two suspects in the mob violence, Sachin Singh alias Cobra and Johnny Chaudhary, were also arrested by the Noida unit of the Special Task Force (STF), which joined the violence probe in the adjoining district, from a bus stand in Gathiya Badshahpur in Bulandshahar.

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to name a road, an educational institution after the slain cop and has offered Rs 40 lakh and Rs 10 lakh to his wife and parents respectively.
