Watch: Indian Air Force Launches Virtual 3D Combat Video Game Themed On Historic Missions, Airstrikes 

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a new 3D video game themed on some of its historic missions, aerial combats including airstrikes, reports Economic Times.

The game, 'Indian Air Force: A Cut Above', launched by IAF chief B S Dhanoa, promises a "realistic feel of the Air Force" to the gamers.

The chief said that the game has been developed keeping in mind the high school and college students and motivate them to choose a career option in the IAF.

The game is available for a free download on both Android and iOS devices and aims to engage the audience above the age of 14.

With 10 main missions and each of them having three sub-missions, the game throws 30 different challenges across varying levels of difficulty.

"The missions include airstrikes, air-to-air refuelling and humanitarian assistance & disaster relief. Also, career navigator and augmented reality sections are available, which will give a realistic feel of the IAF's assets to the user," Dhanoa said.

Gamers will have a realistic feel of flying frontline combat aircraft of the IAF -- like Sukhoi-30, Mirage-2000 the upcoming Rafales, Apaches and Chinooks among others.

The single-player mode has been launched on Wednesday and the multi-player mode is expected to be launched during Air Force Day celebrations in October.

In 2014, the IAF had launched the game -- 'Guardians of the Skies' which saw over a million downloads. The one released now is an upgraded platform of its predecessor.
