Presently it has hit a similar best speeds amid speed preliminaries in Rajasthan demonstrating that train 18 is the future of Indian Railways.

A video uploaded on Twitter by Railways Minister Piyush Goyal shows the train at its top speed “scorching” through the tracks in Rajasthan.

The world-class train has been made at ICF (Integral Coach Factory) in Chennai, utilising 80 per cent indigenous parts.

The train's executive coach will have 56 seats, and the non-executive class will have 78 seats. The new train set will cost around Rs 5-6 crore for each coach. This is 60 per cent cheaper and similar trains operating abroad.

The Train will also ensure the safety of passengers, as the coaches are built with fire-resistant fibre composites.
