A violent mob today (6 May) attacked security forces soon after top Hizbul Mujahideen terror commander Riyaz Naikoo was shot dead in an encounter in Pulwama.
In a video of the incident shared by journalist Aditya Raj Kaul, a large violen mob can be seen attacking a security personnel vehicle with large sticks and stones.
Some of the rioters even climbed atop the vehicle and had a go with their sticks. The video ends with sound of an assault rifle firing, following which the mob starts to flee.
A massive manhunt was launched by a joint team of J&K Police, Indian Army and CRPF in Pulwama yesterday night (6 May) after receiving a specific intelligence input. The armed forces were then successful in trapping and then eliminating Naikoo.
Naikoo was the longest surviving terrorist commander in Kashmir and had killed various armed forces personnel and civilians. He had also masterminding the killings of local policemen to put pressure on them not to engage in anti-terror operations.
