The Chairman of Reliance Group Anil Ambani has written a letter to Congress President Rahul Gandhi, wherein he claims that the Congress has been, “misinformed, misdirected and misled by malicious vested interests and corporate rivals”, about the Rafale fighter jet deal, Indian Express has reported.
As per the report, Ambani who wrote to Gandhi last year, again wrote a letter to him again last week stating that the Reliance Group is not manufacturing any component for the 36 Rafale jets being brought by India.
Gandhi during his allegations against this deal had claimed that the Modi government had changed the Rafale agreement to benefit “one businessman”.
The letter written to Gandhi thus asserted that, “Reliance benefitting by thousands of crores is a figment of imagination, promoted by vested interests”.
It also cleared that no contract exists between the government and Reliance. As claimed by Reliance, French company Dassault Aviation has entered into a joint aviation with it for meeting the contract’s offset requirement.
In the letter Anil Ambani thus expressed deep anguish over Rahul Gandhi making personal attacks against him. He also said that his company’s role is limited to offset obligations and more than 100 medium, small and micro enterprises (MSMEs) and public sector undertakings would be part of it.
