The Bengaluru traffic police has banned slow vehicles like two wheelers, three wheelers including autos on the airport road’s flyover from this week on a trial basis.
The police has also ordered the strict enforcement of lane discipline were heavy vehicles like trucks would only be allowed to travel on the leftmost lane, New Indian Express has reported.
As per Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) P Harishekaran, traffic police have been instructed not to allow slow moving vehicles like two, three wheelers and large trucks like construction vehicles on the flyover.
He added that the authorities would also observe traffic on the 25-30 km KIA Expressway stretch where slow vehicles travelling at 40 kmph obstruct fast vehicles which generally travel at an average speed of 80 kmph.
After making a note of the difficulties, the civic authorities would come up with a plan for undertaking road safety measures.
