With state assembly elections fast approaching, Maharastra Chief Minister (CM) and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis has exuded confidence about the ruling alliance coming back to power.

"Our government will continue to remain in power for at least 25 years as people are aware of the arrogance of power of both the Congress," he said while campaigning in Pathardi taluka of Ahmednagar district.

People had understood the ‘arrogance of power’ of the opposition UPA coalition, consisting of the Congress and NCP, he added.

Maharastra assembly elections over the 288 seats are scheduled for October 2019 and with the people’s mandate set to be delivered over the BJP leader’s five year term. The BJP had emerged as the largest party in the assembly during the 2014 elections gaining 122 seats, 23 short of the 145 majority.

Fadnavis also targeted the opposition for their attacks on EVMs and over the demands to bring back ballot papers for elections.

"When Supriya Sule (NCP MP and daughter of party chief Sharad Pawar) wins elections, there is no tampering of EVMs but when Sujay Vikhe Patil (BJP MP from Ahmednagar) wins, it is blamed on EVMs," he said.
