Facing a backlash from the restaurant industry over deep discounting practices, Zomato has now attempted to seek a reconciliation in order to stop the mass exits from its Zomato Gold platform, reports IANS.
A large number of restaurants have joined the ‘Logout Movement’ launched by the National Restaurant Association, quitting platforms like Zomato Gold, Dineout’s Gourmet passport and EazyDiner.
Zomato Founder and CEO has made his peace offering through Twitter, acknowledging that his company had made mistakes, and that some parts of the restaurant industry had been affected quite badly on the Zomato Gold platform.
He went on to assure restaurants that modifications would be made to its platform to create a mutually beneficial situation for restaurants and customers.
As part of his eight-tweet thread, Goyal also urged restaurant owners to stop leaving aggregator platforms.
"In the interest of consumers, we request restaurant owners, to stop the logout campaign, and have a collaborative discussion with Internet aggregators for finding a sustainable way forward," he stated.
