Why Preventing Candidates From Asking Votes On The Basis Of Caste, Religion Is Not In Our Interest

A section in the People's Representation Act 1951 says that in an election no candidate can ask votes on the basis of caste and religion among other factors.

Though this rule has stayed on, Swarajya senior editor Arush Tandon believes that this rule is not in the long-term interest of our democracy.
