29 antiquities have been repatriated to India by Australia. This move by Australia comes on the day when Prime Minister Modi and and his Australian counterpart Prime Minister Scott Morrison are scheduled to hold a virtual meeting.
The antiquities belong to different themes such as Lord Shiva and his disciples, Worshipping Shakti, Lord Vishnu and his forms, Jain tradition and other portraits and decorative objects.
The earliest of these antiquities date back to 9-10th century CE.
These antiquities are mainly sculptures or paintings. The sculptures are carved in sandstone, marble, bronze, brass.
The antiquities are from several different parts of the country, including - West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally inspected these antiquities when they returned from Australia.
In a video uploaded by PM Modi's youtube account we can see some of these antiquities.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
