Indian and foreign nationals who had recently returned from Italy created a ruckus at the Indian Army quarantine facility at Manesar demanding “better facilities” like individual rooms, The Print has reported.
The matter escalated to such an extent that the cops had to intervene and explain to those quarantined that they are not housed in a luxury resort.
The individuals who had flown in from Milan via an Air India flight on 11 March have been put under quarantine as a precautionary measure.
Following the incident, officials pointed out that the Indian Army is incurring a daily expense of Rs 3.5 lakh for running the facility.
“They should understand that this is not a luxury retreat that they are booking into. This is a quarantine facility, which provides for all basic requirements”, an officer was quoted as saying.
The quarantine facility already provides basic entertainment facilities like indoor games and television.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
