Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (23 May) addressed a rousing crowd at the BJP headquarters following the party’s historic victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Prime Minister Modi began by congratulating party president Amit Shah, party leaders and workers for the victory while having to pause due to rousing ‘Modi Modi’ chants.
He dubbed today’s result as the greatest event in the world’s democratic history and expressed pride over the record voting percentage this election.
Equating BJP’s victory to the one in Mahabharata, Prime Minister Modi compared 130 crore Indians to Lord Krishna for voting in India’s interest and dedicated the victory to them. He thus added that thus election result is a victory of the people and democracy.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated all the victorious candidates and expressed hope that they would do their best in serving the people of India.
He also proudly commented that crores of party workers towards a single thought - Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
“We neither stopped, nor did we tire and here we are again”, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Modi also took on the “Secular Brigade” and how they have stopped peddling the narrative in the last few years. He also spoke how for the first time not even a single political opponent raised the issue of prise rise or make concrete corruption allegations.
