Gadkari’s At The Wheel: Retains Road Transport And Highways Ministry In New Modi Cabinet

Senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari has retained the Ministry for Road Transport and Highways and has also been given the charge of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Under Gadkari the National Highway construction hit a record of 31.87 km per day and hopes to hit a construction target of 12,000 km. He is also overseeing the construction of the Char Dham highway which will connect the holy sites of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.
Gadkari had also served the Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation which has now been reorganised into the Jal Shakti Ministry. The Ministry will also comprise of drinking water and sanitation in line with Prime Minister Modi’s promise to provide safe drinking water to people. This Ministry will be headed by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
