Global Covid-19 Cases Increase To Over 43.5 Lakh, Death Toll Nears 3 Lakh

The total confirmed cases of Coronavirus infections have increased to over 43.5 lakh globally while the death toll due to the deadly virus that originated in China’s Wuhan city has surged to more than 2.97 lakh.
The global tally of Covid-19 patients has risen to 4,350,026, as on 1.30 pm Thursday (14 May), with the death toll rising to 297, 251, according to the latest data from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at John Hopkins University.
As many as 1,551,911 people have recovered from the disease, the CSSE data showed.
The United States has reported 1,390,764 Covid-19 cases, the highest in the world, followed by 242,271 infections in Russia, 230,985 in United Kingdom, 228,691 in Spain and 222,104 in Italy.
The US has also recorded the highest number of deaths due to the Coronavirus, with as many 84,136 fatalities reported in the country so far. The UK has the second-highest death toll with 33,264 deaths, followed by Italy’s 31,106 fatalities.
