Gujarat: 18 Cases Of Coronavirus, State Considers Making Names Of Covid-19 Patients Public To Alert Contacts

With five new positive cases of coronavirus in Gujarat, the total number of Covid-19 patients is 18 in the State, DeshGujarat reported.
All major cities of Gujarat have now recorded cases of the infection with 7 cases in Ahmedabad, 3 in Vadodara , 3 in Surat, 3 in Gandhinagar and one each in Kutch and Rajkot .
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, who also holds the Health portfolio said that the government will declare the names of the patients who have tested positive for coronavirus in Gujarat so that people who came in contact with them will come to know that they have met them and initiate precautionary measure .
Patel said that around total 6092 have been placed under quarantine across the State. He also added that 93 persons have breached home quarantine rules.and were put under government controlled quarantine.
Patel reiterated the rule that any person under quarantine will need to stay in isolation for 14 days without stepping out and will not be allowed to roam freely outside without obtaining certificate from govt authority. In case of breach, they are immediately arrested, sent for quarantine and booked by police. <
Patel said out of total 273 samples tested for coronavirus, reports of 18 are positive and 253 negative.
