Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis when quizzed over whether Uddhav Thackeray led Maharashtra government would survive for 5 years has said that the government will collapse due to infighting.
“Aisi sarkaren kabhi paanch saal chali hain? (Have such governments ever ruled for five years)”, Fadnavis said with a laugh.
While saying that the BJP will not play a role in bringing down this government, Fadnavis said that such coalition governments have never run their full course. He added that the government will collapse under its own weight as it is riddled with infighting.
Fadnavis rejected the allegations of the BJP trying to topple the government by claiming that such the Uddhav Thackeray led government is fanning such a speculation to divert attention from its failure to contain Covid-19.
Fadnavis also said that currently the state needs an assertive leadership and various government departments are failing to coordinate among themselves.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
