A cinema hall in Paris evacuated the screening of the movie Joker after a widespread panic was caused due to a man shouting ‘Allahu-Akbar’, reported Daily Mail.
People had turned out for a 9:30 pm show of the film at the Grand Rex cinema on Sunday (27 October) evening but only got half way through the film before the shock interruption occurred.
The audience had reportedly asked him several times to be quiet as the man was overheard saying several times 'It's political'.
He then stood up from his seat and placed his hands on his chest before shouting 'Allahu akbar!'.
His actions caused panic and chaos inside the cinema as people jumped from their seats and ran for the exit. The man was later arrested outside the cinema hall by Paris police and was identified as a 34-year-old from the Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
