Tamil Nadu: With 48 New Cases, 92 Per Cent Of 621 Covid-19 Patients In The State Are Tablighi Jamaat Members

Fifty new coronavirus cases have been reported from Tamil Nadu today out of which 48 are linked to the Tablighi Jamaat, State Health Secretary Beela Rajesh said in a press briefing.

This takes the total tally of positive cases in the state to 621 out of which 570 are returnees from the Tablighi Jamaat event held in Delhi’s Markaz Nizamuddin last month.
This means that a staggering 91.78 per cent of the total coronavirus patients in the state are Tablighi Jamaat members.
Nationwide 1,445 cases out of the total 4,067 reported till this morning have been linked to the Tablighi Jamaat. This means that a 35.52 per cent of all Covid-19 patients in the country (excluding today evening’s figures) are members of the Tablighi Jamaat.
