At least three Pakistani soldiers were killed as forces crossed the Line of Control (LoC) to retaliate against an attack in which three Indian soldiers were killed and their bodies mutilated by Pakistan's Border Action Team in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Saturday, ANI has reported.

Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army's propaganda wing, claimed that Pakistani troops gave a "strong response" to the Indian attack.
Although the Indian Army has not confirmed the news, experts say the retaliatory raid against Pakistan’s attack did involve cross-border action.
So last eveningâs Indian Army action that killed at least 3 Pak Army soldiers was indeed a cross-border raid. Army wonât confirm, but isnât denying either. As @sneheshphilip reports, casualty figure likely higher than Pak claim. pic.twitter.com/hRntlETFeM

An Army major was among the four Indian soldiers killed by Pakistani troops on Saturday. This was not the first time that Pakistan conducted a cross-LoC raid to kill Indian soldiers and mutilate their bodies.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Army lauded the martyrs as “brave and sincere soldiers” and said that the “nation will always remain indebted to them for their supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty”.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
