Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections Result: BJP Crosses Majority Mark

The Yogi Adityanath-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has crossed majority mark in Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, according to the early trends data shared by the Election Commission.
As per EC, BJP is leading on 227 seat, slightly ahead of the majority mark of 202 seats in the 403-seat strong UP Assembly.
Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party is trailing on 91 seats, with its ally Rashtriya Lok Dal ahead on just five seats.
So far, official trends for over 350 seats have been declared by the poll panel.
According to the EC data, CM Yogi Adityanath is leading in Gorakhpur seat by over 4,400 votes against the SP candidate Subhawati Upendra Dutt Shukla.
Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav is leading from Karhal seat by over 16,000 votes against BJP candidate S P Singh Baghel.
