Google has launched the Google Play Pass in India, Economic Times (ET) reports.
The subscription service gives access to several games and applications without the hassles of in-app purchases, ads and upfront payments.
Play Pass will be offering a collection of over 1000 titles across 41 different categories.
Users can first start with a month-long trial and then avail the subscription for a monthly cost of Rs 99. They will also have the option of taking an annual subscription of Rs 889.
“We want to deliver products and programs that the Play community - both users and developers - find value in, and we are always looking for new ways to do this,” Google India’s senior executive Aditya Swamy was quoted by ET.
Swamy added, “With the launch of Play Pass in India, we are excited to offer a robust collection of unlocked titles to our users and looking forward to partnering with more local developers to build amazing experiences users love.”
Play Pass will provide Google a pathway to unlock new streams of revenue by expanding their global user base.
Several games like World Cricket Battle 2, Monument Valley, Kingdom Rush Frontiers TD and applications like Unit Converter and AudioLab will be a part of this subscription package.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
