After exit polls predict dismal performance for the party, Congress leader R Roshan Baig has blamed the party leaders for the dismal performance predicted by the exit polls, reports Times of India.
Calling AICC Karnataka in-charge K C Venugopal ‘a buffoon’, Baig said, “I feel sorry for my leader Rahul Gandhi. Because of buffoons like Venugopal and arrogant attitude of Siddaramaiah and flop show of KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao, the result is like this.”
In the meantime, Baig appealed the Muslims to ‘compromise with the situation’, and said, “We should not be sacrificed. We should not remain like cattle. We should not become vote bank of one side.”
Corroborating Baig’s take, his son tweeted, “Congress has created a fear psychosis among the minorities. They’ve created a narrative that minorities should feel guilty if they decide to vote for BJP. But in reality, Congress leadership just uses the minority vote bank as a safety cushion.”
Baig also censured Siddaramaiah for dividing the Hindu society by attempting to give separate religion status to the Lingayat community and abusing the Vokkaligas persistently while he was chief minister.
Responding to the speculations that he is planning to join BJP, Baig said, “As of now I am in Congress. I have not decided about my future.”
