Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has lost 4.5 kg weight since he was arrested on 21 March, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and minister Atishi claimed on Wednesday (3 April).
However, authorities in Tihar jail, where Kejriwal is lodged, have said the Delhi CM is fine, and he has not lost weight since he was lodged in the jail two days back.
"Arvind Kejriwal is a severe diabetic. Despite health problems, he used to work 24 hours a day to serve the country. Since his arrest, Arvind Kejriwal has lost 4.5 kg of weight. This is very worrying," Atishi wrote in a post on X.
"BJP is putting his health at risk by putting him in jail. If something happens to Arvind Kejriwal, forget about the entire country, even God will not forgive them," she added.
According to the Tihar prison sources cited in an India Today report, AAP chief's weight was 55 kg when he reached the prison, and it has remained constant.
Prison authorities said Kejriwal's health was fine, and his sugar levels were normal, India Today reported.
Kejriwal's sugar level was reportedly found to be low on Tuesday (2 April), and he was kept under the watch of Tihar jail doctors as his sugar level kept fluctuating.
Kejriwal, who is lodged in jail number 2 of Tihar, has been remanded to judicial custody till 15 April in the Delhi liquor policy case.
