In a speech delivered at a public rally in Krishnanagar, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing them of rampant corruption. He also set a bold target for the state BJP to secure victory in all 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal.
Addressing the crowd at the 'Bijoy Sankalpa Sabha' in Krishnanagar, PM Modi lambasted the TMC, equating it with "Tu, Main aur Corruption" and denouncing its governance as synonymous with atrocities, dynasty politics, and betrayal.
Referring to the incidents in Sandeshkhali, where women have accused TMC leaders of sexual abuse, PM Modi criticized the state government's failure to address the grievances of the victims, emphasizing that instead of standing with the aggrieved, the TMC administration sided with the accused.
"The mothers and sisters kept pleading for justice, but the TMC government did not listen to them. They took votes in the name of 'Maa Mati Manush' but now the mothers and sisters are weeping in West Bengal," PM Modi remarked.
The Prime Minister further accused the TMC of fostering an environment conducive to crime and corruption, prioritizing self-interest over the welfare and development of Bengal.
The recent arrest of suspended TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh, accused of sexual assault and land grabbing, has intensified the ongoing political strife in the region.
Amidst the turmoil, PM Modi praised the women of Sandeshkhali for their courage in standing up against years of oppression and harassment.
