Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (7 December) praised the BJP's significant triumph in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, attributing it to "teamwork". He encouraged party members to maintain this unity to tackle upcoming challenges, including the Lok Sabha elections in the early part of next year, according to Indian Express sources.
Upon his arrival at the BJP parliamentary party meeting, PM Modi received a standing ovation and was honored by BJP national president JP Nadda.
In the first Parliamentary party meeting following their triumph in the Assembly elections, Modi conveyed that these outcomes demonstrated that the BJP, being the ruling party, gets re-elected due to its governance track record, according to sources.
Sources indicate that Modi highlighted the BJP's re-election rate for a second term stands at 57 per cent, significantly higher than the Congress party's sub-20 per cent rate. He also noted that regional parties have a re-election rate of 49 per cent for a second term.
In the recent past, the BJP has achieved election victory three times in 59 per cent of the chances, while the Congress has been unable to secure a third-time win in any state.
PM Modi encouraged the MPs to take an active part in the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, an initiative aimed at reaching beneficiaries of government schemes. This program, which commenced on 15 November will end on 25 January.
He also urged them to engage in the Janman program, specifically designed for particularly vulnerable tribal groups and extremely backward communities, as well as the Vishwakarma program.
