On Thursday (30 November), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out simultaneous searches at the residences of several Trinamool Congress leaders, including an MLA and two councillors.
The search was conducted as part of an inquiry into alleged irregularities in school recruitment in West Bengal according to a report from Deccan Herald.
The central agency conducted raids at the home of Jafikul Islam, the MLA representing Domkal in Murshidabad district, as well as Kolkata Municipal Corporation councillor Bappadittya Dasgupta and Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation councillor Debraj Chakraborty.

He stated to PTI, "These raids are being conducted as a part of our investigation into the teachers’ scam. The raids are on. We are questioning the people whose homes and offices are being raided."
