Dear Reader,
Our 50 Stories Project - an attempt to bring you ground reports from 50 constituencies is nearing completion. We've brought you 43 ground reports.
This note is an update on the project and an appeal for your support.
Our senior reporter Swati Goel Sharma was in Alwar recently. She was there to report on how the constituency would vote this election - the report is part of our 50 Stories project.
The old media has repeatedly editorialised and even vilified victims of cattle smuggling in this constituency. This has happened because Alwar 'lynching' was a convenient stick to beat the current PM Narendra Modi with.
The ground realities are quite different right? Villagers are struggling to keep their cattle from getting stolen. Cattle theft is on steep rise since a government change in state. No media house is willing to report all aspects of this problem because it goes against the very narrative they've sold us.
We have two requests for you:
1. Read our report to find our more about how Alwar will vote this election.
2. Make a contribution to the 50 Stories Project - you can contribute as little as Rs 2,999 to back us.
It is contributions from readers such as you which has helped us execute this project. Now that we're on the last leg I'm writing to ask you to back us with a contribution.
Will you consider making a contribution? Click here.
Yours,
Amar Govindarajan
