Gudiya Sambhrama is a temple festival organized by Heritage, a non-profit trust based in Bengaluru.
The festival is an attempt to make temples the center of cultural life again. It is also an effort to increase interest in the classical arts by hosting performances by renowned and upcoming artists from across India. In the words of the trustee of Heritage, Vijayalakshmi Vijayakumar, the festival is a “coming together of heritage, culture and nature.”
Gudiya Sambhrama attracts people from all walks of life every year since its inception in 2010. The festival this year will run from January 23rd to the first week of March on every consecutive weekend across 22 temples in Bengaluru. Traditional games are organized by Kavade Hive.
The focus on this year’s Heritage festival is Bhumi Devi, the sacred Earth. The festival begins on January 23rd and goes on till February 28, 2016.
