J&K: One Army Officer Killed, Three Elite Para Special Forces Soldiers Injured In An Encounter In Rajouri; One Terrorist Neutralised

An army officer lost his life, and three members of the elite 9 Para forces sustained injuries during an ongoing encounter in the Kalakote area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday (22 November).
According to official sources, the army officer belonged to the 63 Rashtriya Rifles, and the three injured personnel from the elite 9 Para unit were promptly shifted to the hospital.
The encounter unfolded in the Baji area of Kalakote in the Rajouri district, with terrorists engaging in a confrontation with security forces.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Haseeb Mughal stated that a joint team of police and security forces initiated a cordon and search operation in the area based on specific intelligence inputs.
As the joint team approached the suspected area, the concealed terrorists opened fire, leading to an encounter, added the officer.
During the encounter, one terrorist was neutralised. However, the security forces are facing difficulty in recovering the body of the deceased militant due to intense gunfire from other concealed terrorists.
According to police, two terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.
