Vande Bharat Trains Now Cover 22 States, 100 Districts

Since launching of the first Vande Bharat Express in 2019, 36 services of the semi-high speed train are operational now covering 22 states and 100 districts, with two more services that are are expected to start on 3 June.
Presently, Vande Bharat is serving people at 99 unique stoppages. So far Vande Bharat Trains have covered 38,43,934.12 km as on 29 May 2023 which is equivalent to 95.64 rounds of the Earth.
Till now Vande Bharat trains have covered 22 states/UTs which include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi,
Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Assam.
With the launching of Goa-Mumbai Vande Bharat on June 3, another state of Goa would be added in semi-high speed service.
Vande Bharat Express train is India's first Semi High-Speed train set with quick acceleration and contemporary passenger amenities. The First Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 February 2019 between New Delhi and Varanasi.
According to the Railways, Vande Bharat trains are leading examples of Make-in-India initiative.
These state-of-the-art semi high speed distributed power trains are indigenously designed and are being manufactured currently in Integral Coach Factory, Chennai. These trains are meeting all the international safety and comfort related standards including Train Collision avoidance system (Kavach).
Tested at speed of 180 kmph, Vande Bharat Express is operating at maximum speed of 160 kmph. It aims to provide a totally new travel experience to passengers. Speed, Safety and Service are the hallmarks of this train.
Till date, 36 services of Vande Bharat Trains have started on 18 routes. These trains have connected 22 states and more than 100 districts of the country which has helped to stimulate local economies and support small businesses in the areas it serves.
Vande Bharat Express Trains have captured the imagination of the public magnanimously. Eagerness to travel in Vande Bharat trains amongst the public can be well understood with the high occupancy rate registered.
As per the data from 1 April 2023 till May 30, 2023, all services of Vande Bharat trains have high patronage.
36 services have approximately 100 per cent occupancy. Kasargod- Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bharat service has achieved an overwhelming approx. 190 per cent occupancy rate.
It is expected that by the end of June 2023, all the states shall be connected with this prestigious train service.
