Ahead Of Tokyo Olympics Haryana Govt Announces Cash Prize Of Rs 6 Crore For Olympic Gold Medallists

Going all out to promote sports and to encourage the sportsperson to perform better, Haryana State's Chief Minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday (16 February) announced cash prizes and employment opportunities for sportspersons from the State, reports Asian News International (ANI).
Announcing the provisions from the State's Sports Policy, CM Khattar shared that Rs 6 crore would be awarded to sportspersons who win Gold medals at the Olympic Games, Rs 3 crore to sportspersons who win Gold medals at the Asian Games, and Rs 1.5 crore to sportspersons who win Gold medals at the Commonwealth Games.
CM Khattar also announced that irrespective of whether a player participating in Olympic Games wins a medal or not, he/she would be awarded a sum of Rs 15 lakh by the State Government for making the State and the nation proud.
CM Khattar made the announcements while addressing the gathering including sportspersons on the occasion of the conclusion of 46th Junior National Kabaddi Competition which had been organised in Rohtak city's Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU).
