‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’: J&K Admin Issues Directives To Hoist Tricolour On All Govt Buildings Within Next 15 Days

Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha led Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) administration has decided to hoist the National Flag on all the Government buildings across the Union Territory (UT), reports The Pioneer.
LG Sinha himself issued the necessary instructions in this regard, following which the Office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu on bygone Friday (26 March) directed all the Deputy Commissioners and Heads of the Departments to implement the directions within the next 15 days.
Following the same, in Kashmir Valley, Anantnag's Deputy Commissioner Dr Piyush Singla has issued a circular to the district heads and all the district, sectoral, tehsil, and block-level officers to comply with the directions. District heads have also been instructed to submit the progress report on a daily basis in this regard.
Reviewing the activities under the “Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ which is an initiative of the Government to celebrate the 75 years of India's Independence, LG Sinha also asked the district officers to identify people from their areas who have played an important role in the freedom struggle and felicitate them.
In preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, he also instructed the Deputy Commissioners to construct fully functional toilet complexes at prominent places in all the districts through which the Yatra passes, within the next two months.
