Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon on Monday (16 March) wrote to state Chief Minister Kamal Nath asking him to conduct the floor test on 17 March.
In the letter Governor Tandon added that if the state government fails to conduct the floor test tomorrow, it will be considered that it does not have the required majority in the state assembly, ANI has reported.
This development comes after the state assembly speaker adjourned the house till 26 March after citing the coronavirus outbreak. This announcement was made following a speech by the Governor in the in which he asked the state government to hold the floor test today itself.
Subsequently the BJP also filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a trust vote in the state within 48 hours.
